Born Adrian Dalando Dias in Mt. Pleasant, Hanover, Jamaica, Rast Dias was immersed in music from an early age. His father’s sound system, Gangsta Force, introduced him to the rhythms of reggae legends like Bob Marley, Garnet Silk, and Capleton, shaping his passion for music.

As a teenager, he found his artistic identity in Trench Town, the birthplace of reggae. There, he coined iconic slangs like “Way Up Deh” and “A Swear to Yuh”, which gained popularity with his breakout single Buil and Tek a Pill (later renamed Money Bag).

Despite facing industry struggles early on, Rast Dias took time to hone his craft. His perseverance paid off when he returned stronger, introducing new phrases like Banginz, Upps Nuh Fluckz, and Upps & Active, which have become his personal brand.

Over the years, Rast Dias has overcome numerous obstacles, including navigating the harsh realities of the streets and leaving school at just 15. Instead of letting challenges define him, he turned them into motivation, using music as a vehicle to share his experiences and uplift others.
